NSC Nonwoven & ALBAAD: A joint success

Sunday, June 26, 2011
Albaad one of the world's largest wet wipes manufacturers and No 1 in Europe for private label market has ordered a state-of-the-art new production line including Thibeau® cards. The line will include two Excelle® cards, which will feature the new "T.T" card design. The extra wide line will significantly expand the company's production capacity as well as will provide unique properties to the finish fabrics, with enhance balanced MD/CD strength values while reducing product costs. This new production technology will surpass existing industry standards in all aspects.
The management of Albaad has confirmed its great satisfaction for its partnership with NSC Nonwoven. Textisol SA & TT card: The new carding revolution developed by NSC nonwoven
In December 2010, Textisol S A from Alcoy, Spain, decided to acquire the new carding concept developed by NSC Nonwoven, the "TT" card. Textisol is one of the important European nonwoven players in the field of Spunlace and needlepunched technology; producing and marketing wipes and cleaning cloths since 2003.
The TT card operates at a high-speed level and offers the following advantages:
  • Web weights from 30 to 80 gsm with a mix of PES, VIS and PP fibres, 1.7 to 2.2 dtex with two card webs.
  • Unequalled MD/CD ratio of less than 3:1 compatible with a very high production level, in excess of 250 m/min with two TT cards in line.
  • Webs are bulky with a good MD/CD strength ratio, so that it is conceivable to reduce even more the average wipes weight without losing commercial product aspect. 35 to 40 gsm will be tomorrow's standard. Whilst manufacturers struggle against the price increase of raw materials, it is excellent news!
  • An excellent product aspect thanks to the low level of recycling of fibres on the main cylinder, leading to a better web homogeneity.
Thanks to these new parameters, Textisol will be able to face the increasing demand for balanced MD/CD strength values from the leading wipes producers in Europe. Textisol wants to lift its production capacity by more than 50% from its current level with wipes improved quality (MD/CD and product homogeneity).
With this investment, Textisol is considering combining the TT card with their current web forming in order to work with 100% TT web forming or combining TT card with the existing nonwoven cards. Textisol has already scheduled to exhibit samples of the wipes produced at industrial speeds using TT technology, during the Geneva Index show in April, 2011. Textisol has planned to start its TT card at industrial production output in August, 2011, just a few weeks before the ITMA fair, September 2011 in Barcelona.
