How to Reinstall Windows 7?

Tuesday, June 7, 2011
There are two ways in which you can execute a reinstallation. One is by using an image backup and the second is by using the recovery disc. If you are using a netbook with Windows 7 starter installed on it, it will have an automatic recovery option on it, which can restore full functionality. Check out your user manual for details. Usually, all you need to do is press a button during boot up to run a full recovery, as an image is saved in advance by the manufacturer on the hard drive. For laptop and desktop computers, here is the step wise reinstallation procedure.

Step 1: Open Recovery Console in Control Panel
All administrative options in Windows 7 are found under 'Control Panel'. To recover Windows 7, you need to go to control panel through the 'Start' icon located on the bottom left of your Windows screen. Type 'recovery' in the 'search' box located at the top. Select the recovery option that will be listed below, which will open the recovery console.

Step 2: Choose Advanced Recovery Options
In case the damage done to your system is minor a 'System Recovery' option should restore functionality back in no time. Otherwise, if the damage is extensive, select the 'Advanced Recovery Options' by clicking on it.

Step 3: Choose From Image Recovery or Disk Recovery
If you have created a Windows 7 image previously, you need not go through the lengthy procedure of recovering from a disk. Choose the 'restore from image' option if you have one saved. It will restore full functionality after you have backed up your data. If you don't have a stored image, choose the 'Reinstall Windows' option and keep your recovery disc in readiness.

Step 4: Backup Files and Restart Computer
Once you have chosen the reinstallation option, you will be prompted to run a file backup first. Choose the 'Backup Now' option, if you haven't backed up data before. Once the backup is created, select the 'Restart' computer option when prompted.

Step 5: Insert Recovery Disc and Follow Instructions
On a system restart, you will be prompted to choose the keyboard type. After that, you will be asked to insert the recovery disc. After the disc is inserted, reinstallation will begin copying files. Enter your user name, PC name, choose recommended settings option, time zone and other settings when asked. Once you have chosen them, reinstallation is almost done.

Step 6: Recover File Backup and You Are Done
On successful completion of reinstallation, you will be prompted to recover files from backup. Click on 'Restore Files' to conclude the whole process. On restarting your computer, you will find the system restored to its normal condition. In short, your job will be done! You might want to check out this article explaining the.

How To Fix The Windows 7 Boot Crashes

Wednesday, May 25, 2011
1) Restart Into "Safe Mode" - The first thing to do is to restart your PC into safe mode. This basically allows your computer to read all the files & settings that it needs to operate, and will allow your computer to process the important information and settings that it requires to run without having to open any of the files that could be causing errors. To do this, restart your PC and then press F8 continually on the keyboard. This will load up the "Boot Options" menu, from which you'll be able to select "Safe Mode". Run this mode for about 30 minutes, and if it does not crash, the boot crashes are going to be caused by software issues rather than a hardware problem.
2) Uninstall Programs You Don't Want - If you find that you *can* boot into safe mode, then it's recommended that you uninstall any of the software that could be causing problems. We've found that if you have problems with the system, uninstalling software is actually a great way to fix the issue for good. To do this, you should click onto "Start", select "Control Panel" and then pick "Add / Remove Programs". From here, you can then pick the programs that are causing errors, which will allow you to boot up Windows in the best possible way.
3) Clean Out The Registry Of Your PC - Most importantly, you *have* to clean out the registry of Windows, as this database is where a large number of problems are going to be forming for your system. The registry is a large central directory for all the files, settings and information that your computer will be using to run, and is what Windows will be using to help it load up the likes of your desktop theme, most important options & a range of other important settings. It's continually leading your system to run much slower, and can be fixed by using a registry cleaner tool that you can download from the Internet, install onto your system and then let clean out any of the errors on your PC. We recommend a tool called Fronline Registry Cleaner 2.0 for this task.
